York Cathedral Exterior #1

York Cathedral Exterior #1

I love cathedrals. They have such amazing detail in them. Every tiny feature has been intricately designed. They’re stunning to look at. However, due to York Cathedral’s location I found it quite tricky to get the shots I had in mind. Liverpool’s Anglican Cathedral allows you to stand back from it and take it all in, but with York’s you stand next to it. Its great for looking at all the tiny details but I do love my wide angle lens 🙂 I like to be able to stand back and use the wide angle lens to give people a sense of what it’s like to be there. There just isn’t the room at York. There’s also a large amount of dead tree’s this time of year, not exactly photogenic. Still, I’m happy with this shot, for the most part. I do think it suffers from an odd look to it.
