The 2nd floor of the Maritime Museum in Liverpool was recently renovated. New ideas, new displays, new objects to learn about. There are interesting displays about the Titanic and its connection to Liverpool and others looking at life on board ships. I was commissioned to photograph the renovation.
I really enjoy this sort of work. As an autistic person I sometimes find it hard to concentrate in a gallery due to all the voices and people moving around. I’ve found a way of combatting that is by using a camera as it shrinks my world down to whatever is in the viewfinder. My ADHD side is constantly going “Ooooh what’s that?” and it wants to explore. I get to learn, explore and produce work that helps a good client.
