A decorative wooden bridge with a snow-covered roof spans across a body of water. Surrounding the bridge are trees and shrubs, some areas partly obscured by mist. Ducks are visible in the water beneath the bridge.

Celebration of Wirral x NYC

As a kid my nan would take me to Birkenhead Park to see the ducks. I have fond memories of running around there. Little did I know that Birkenhead Park was the inspiration for New York’s Central Park. In 2016 my wife and I went to New York for Christmas and loved spending Christmas Day walking around the park and seeing what life was like there. Now, in 2025 both park’s are applying for World Heritage Status at the same time. To celebrate both park’s I produced a series of prints for Routes471‘s “Celebration of Wirral” exhibition at Start Yard in February.
